Always good to read behind-the-scene stories. Also, glad that you people based WDS Blocks on top of my create-guten-block project. This is truly the perfect use case for the starter kit.

I’m hoping that with a bunch of more support, a couple of months down the road, we’ll be able to make major changes like transitioning to webpack 4, Babel 7, and using react-hot-loader to make dev-tooling for WordPress devs more exciting.
